About Rick

Frederick V. James is the premiere event florist in Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties. With more than thirty years experience in the flower industry, Rick has developed the skills of a master florist.

Rick's flowers have been appreciated by a high-profile audience, including George Schulz, Condoleeza Rice, the Hiltons, Arnold Schwarznegger, Maria Schriver, Steve Jobs, Chip Connely and others.

His work has appeared in Sunset Magazine twice, and he has had weddings and events profiled in San Jose Magazine and Gentry. While his trips abroad haven't included floral studies, he did get a great Louis Vuitton briefcase in Istanbul. Rick's floral stylings run the gamut from traditional to more artistic. In addition to his skills with flowers, Rick has worked in a number of other media, including painting, drawing, fashion-design and found-object sculpture.
